Residence Halls Support Staff

Applications for support staff positions for the 2009-10 academic year are closed.  Position notifications will be made via e-mail on Friday, April 17th.    

The Residence Life Support staff play a vital role in serving students in the residence halls and Residence Life office.  We are currently looking for friendly, hard working, energetic students to fill our 2009-10 support staff positions.  If you would like to join our team, please read the application information below and then click "Apply Here" to complete the application.  We look forward to working with a great team next year!

Hall Desk Associate

Hall Desk Associates are the principal contact for residents using hall services.  Customer service is an important required skill as employees will be distributing packages, checking out equipment, and answering general hall questions.  Desk Associates are also responsible for a small cash draw where residents make change and purchase stamps.  Desk Associates are expected to assist in other tasks as assigned.  Hall Desk Associates are needed in all halls.

Payment Options:

Scholarship, Work-Study

Hours per Week:

5 hours for Scholarship students

5-20 for Work-Study

 

 

Hall Desk Mail Clerk

The Mail Clerk is responsible for distributing the mail and logging all packages that are delivered to the hall desk.  The Mail Clerk also forwards misdirected mail and maintains the forwarding address database.  Mail Clerks are needed in all halls.  Preferred work hours are during mail delivery (anywhere between 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM).

5 hours for Scholarship students

5-20 for Work-Study

 

 

Night Monitor

Night Monitors manage the building’s secure night time entrance.  They make sure that all persons entering the building either live there or are signed in by someone who does.  They also work with hall staff to ensure that all people entering the building are safe.  The Night Monitors also unlock the doors of the building in the morning.  Night Monitors are needed in all halls except the apartments.

5 hours for Scholarship students

Staff Assistant to the Hall Director

Staff Assistants work directly with a hall director.  They assist the director in daily operations of the office and special tasks as assigned.  Staff Assistants work closely with students and other offices, so professionalism and high customer service skills are essential.  Previous experience as a Res Life staff member (support staff, SA, etc.) is recommended.  A small interview may be required for this position.

5 - 15 Hours Per Week

 

 

Residence Life Central Office Staff

Central Staff members are the primary contact for students coming to the Residence Life main office,  Staff members assist with a number of tasks, including answering the phones, working with residents and parents, and coordinating with other departments on behalf of Residence Life.  Well developed skills in customer service are very important.  Previous experience as a Res Life staff member (support staff, SA, etc.) is recommended.  A small interview may be required for this position.
