Are you looking for a leadership opportunity on campus? The Residence Life Office is looking for Student Advisors for the 2010-11 academic year.  These positions offer the opportunity to work with and mentor fellow students, create social and educational programming opportunities, and build valuable skills that are transferable to a variety of career paths.

Student Advisor applications are available online by following the links below and are due by 5:00PM on Monday, January 18, 2010.  Applicants will be notified via e-mail on Monday, January 25 regarding whether or not they will be offered an interview.  Interviews will be held January 30 & 31 for applicants who are selected to interview.  When you submit your application online, you will be asked for your interview time preferences.  These preferences will be used in the event that you are offered an interview.

Apartment Manager applications are available online by following the links below and are due by 5:00PM on Monday, January 18, 2010.  Interviews will be held January 25 & 26.  After submitting applications online, Apartment Manager applicants will be contacted to set up an interview time.

Information Regarding Interviews:

 
  • Important! Not all students who apply for a Student Advisor position will be interviewed.  Application review will occur after the January 18 deadline.  Applicants will be notified via e-mail on January 25 whether or not they have been selected to interview.  Applicants who are selected will interview in the time block that they originally chose on their application.  Confirmations of that time will be sent in the interview notification e-mail. 
  • Interviews for Student Advisor positions will be held during the weekend of Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31. When you submit your application online, you will be asked for your interview time preferences. 
  • Interviews for Apartment Manager positions will be held Monday, January 25 and Tuesday, January 26.
  • Dress for interviews is business casual (jeans are acceptable).
  • Interviews are held in two parts.  The first part consists of 3-4 group activities and will last approximately 2 1/2 hours.  The second part consists of an individual interview with two or three staff members and will last approximately 45 minutes.
  • Apartment Manager candidates will be notified whether or not they have received a position on January 28 via campus e-mail.
  • Student Advisor candidates will be notified of their status on February 10 via campus e-mail.

Applicants are encouraged to attend one information session to learn more about the positions. Sessions for those interested in the Student Advisor position will be held:

  • Wednesday, November 18 - 8:00pm, MO Hall Chariton Room
  • Wednesday, December 9 - 8:00pm, MO Hall Chariton Room
  • Thursday, December 10 - 8:00pm, MO Hall Chariton Room

  • Thursday, November 19 - 8:00pm, MO Hall Chariton Room
  • Tuesday, December 8 - 8:00pm, MO Hall Chariton Room

  • You will be sent an email to confirm your interview time  on January 25 or 26 if you are selected to interview.  If the time conflicts with your schedule, please contact our office at x4227 or use the link above to request a change.
  • If your file is not complete, you will not be considered for a Student Advisor or Apartment Manager position. We may not contact you to request missing materials.  You can call our office or email to confirm that your file is complete.  Please remember that no file is complete until after all references have been turned in and/or submitted.
