Andrea is responsible for everything under the umbrella of the Residence Life Department. Truman's campus has an on-campus living capacity of approximately 2900 students, which is half of the total student body. She has worked at Truman's Residence Life Department for eight years.

Generally, our central office staff or hall directors can answer most questions, so you are also able to direct your questions to the appropriate individuals as seen below.

John Gardner

As the Assistant Director, John oversees Missouri Hall, BNB Hall, and West Campus suites, as well as general oversight of the department along with Andrea and Emily.  He has been involved in housing and student affairs for five years and has a strong interest in diversity and social justice issues.  In his free time, John enjoys travel near and far, golf, and home improvement projects.

As Coordinator for Student Life and Development Emily supervises the Hall Directors for Centennial, Ryle and Grim Halls. She also shares with Andrea and John in oversight of all departmental processes and procedures. Emily is entering her sixth year working professionally in ResLife.  Emily is a Kansas City native and loves programming and working with student advisors.

The Housing Coordinator, as the name implies, coordinates all housing placement and facilitates all room moves. Tracy also is responsible for billing within Residence Life. Tracy is a good person to contact with questions regarding housing fees, or if you are looking for rooms with available spaces.

As the Hall Director for Centennial Hall, Bill oversees the day-to-day operations of Centennial Hall, including it’s residents, staff, facilities, lounges, and the Hall Desk.  Bill is in his 2nd year at Truman working in Housing and finds his interest for Student Affairs in staff development, process design, and social justice.  In his free time, Bill enjoys golfing, watching sports, reading, and movies.

As the Community Coordinator of Centennial Hall, Alex oversees the activities of the student advisors and the Hall Desk.  This includes all programming events, bulletin boards, and all the desk operations.  Alex is in his third year as a part of Residence Life, and his senior academic year at Truman. He is dedicated to his majors in Art and Education, with the desire to have a career in public education.  In his free time, he enjoys painting, exercising, reading, and spending time with friends.

This is Stephanie’s third year as a Hall Director, previously serving as the Dobson Hall Director for two years and the Blanton-Nason-Brewer Hall Director this year. Stephanie is also a Truman Alum and currently completing coursework in the MAE program, English Secondary. Stephanie enjoys working with students and looks forward to the many adventures in BNB. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys traveling (especially abroad), watching the Bears and Cubs, playing frisbee golf, and running marathons!

As the Community Coordinator for Blanton-Nason-Brewer, Nick oversees the support staff that runs the hall desk for the residents of the building, along with supervising programming for the Student Advisors of the building. Also, Nick sees to any other work needed by the Hall Director and assists in helping the Student Advisors develop community in their halls in whatever ways he can. This is Nick's 4th year involved in Residence Life at Truman and he is a first year graduate student in the Masters of Arts in Education program. Particularly, Nick is interested in building a staff and building-wide community. In the rest of the time Nick finds in the days, he is a avid sports fan, enjoys playing video games, plays poker, and loves to watch movies with his friends.

Justin is in his second year at Truman as the Hall Director for Grim Hall and the Apartments. He has been involved in Residence Life for six years and is extremely excited about this year! Justin enjoys playing board games, being active and is currently reading the Harry Potter series for the first time! “They are amazing!”

As the Community Coordinator for Grim Hall and the Apartments, Amy supervises the Student Advisors in Grim and the Farm and also the Apartment Managers of the 3 campus apartment complexes. This entails overseeing the operation of Grim Hall Desk, Campbell Hall Desk, and Night Monitor Program in Grim. Amy helps to build community by advising the programming efforts, door decs, and bulletin boards of GRAP. This is Amy's 3rd year in Residence Life and 4th year at Truman State. She is a senior Spanish major hoping to continue her education in the Master of Arts in Education Program in Elementary Education, with a focus on English Language Learner programs. She enjoys chewing gum, spending time with friends and family, and Hoops and Yoyo!!

Liz Raine

As the Ryle Hall Director, Liz facilitates the operation of daily life and living in Ryle Hall, including developing and working with staff and students.  Liz works to ensure that the Ryle Hall facility, which Truman students live in, is meeting the needs of its residents, by working with building maintenance, hall desk support staff, student staff members, and other entities across campus and within the building.  Liz is a Truman graduate and this is her fifth year of working with the Residence Life department; this is Liz’s second year as a professional staff member.   In her free time, Liz enjoys baking, playing recreational sports, travelling, reading, and hanging out with friends.

Drew Clark is a first year Community Coordinator at Ryle Hall.  He oversees the programming and community building efforts of the nineteen Ryle Hall Student Advisors, in addition to overseeing the Ryle Hall Desk and Night Monitor Program.  He began his Residence Life experience at Truman two years ago after being very impressed by the positive impact his first Student Advisor had on his freshman house, awakening his desire to help build the same type of communities that he was able to enjoy his first year.  Drew is also an avid runner who enjoys marathon-distance runs, reading, and camping.
