Services

The Missouri Hall staff works hard to make sure your experience is first class.  Below are a few of the services offered in Missouri Hall.

Hall Desk

Whether you need to pick up a package, rent a game, or check out a vacuum cleaner, the Hall Desk is your one-stop-shop for everything.  The hall desk staff maintains a large selection of games, cooking supplies, and equipment available for usage in the building.  The desk staff also takes care of all mail in and out of the building.  Students receiving packages will have a note in their email inbox to let them know a package is waiting.  You can also print from any of the 10 public computers to the hall printer for 10¢ per page.  The staff can also help you set up your personal computer to print there as well.

Duty Student Advisors

A Student Advisor is only a phone call away when you need assistance.  Beginning each night at 5:00 PM, a Student Advisor is on duty and available to lend a hand in Missouri Hall.  Typical calls are for lockouts and minor maintenance, but SAs are also on hand to assist with building emergencies, physical and mental health concerns, and policy situations.  The SA duty shift ends each morning at 8:00 AM when day time staff are available to lend a hand.  On the weekends, SAs are available 24 hours each day.

The Student Advisor On-Duty number is 660-341-1017.

Lock-Outs

It's important to keep your keys with you at all times.  As a safety feature, all the room doors in Missouri Hall automatically lock when closed.  If you should forget your keys, hall staff is happy to help.  During the day you can find a Student Advisor, drop by the Hall Desk, or ask the Hall Director for assistance.  After 5:00 PM, give the on-duty Student Advisors a call on their cell phone.  Lock-outs before 10:30 PM are only $1.00.  Lockouts after 10:30 PM are $3.00.  Last year the Missouri Hall Senate authorized the staff to charge $10.00 for a person's fourth lockout and beyond.  Please remember to keep your keys with you at all times.

Night Security

Each night at 10:30 the on-duty Student Advisors lock all the exterior doors with the exception of the front door.  After 10:30 students enter through the front doors and swipe their ID card with the Night Monitor to ensure they live in the building.  They can also sign in guests to the building.  On-duty Student Advisors make regular rounds to touch base with the residents and make sure everything is safe and sound in the hall.  Missouri Hall is a very safe place a night.  That being said, we still encourage residents to be mindful of their own safety at night.  This includes shutting and locking your door at night and when you are away from the room.

Repairs

If something breaks in your room, get in touch with Facilities Management to get it repaired.  Their team of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians can repair almost anything the University owns.  Repairs for almost everything are free, so don't hesitate to get in touch with them.  There are two ways to submit your service requests.  You can call Facilities at 660-785-4687 with the details of your service need.  You can also submit it online at http://physicalplant.truman.edu/servicerequest.  You might want to bookmark that page.  Either way, be specific about what the problem is, where the problem is, and how the crews can get in touch with you.  For an emergency facilities issues after hours (something like a river of water pouring out of the bathroom at 8:00 PM), get a hold of the Duty Student Advisors at 660-341-1017 or see the Hall Director.

Housekeeping

Missouri Hall has a dedicated housekeeping staff that works hard to keep the building looking great.  The housekeepers clean the bathrooms six days a week as well as the public lounges, kitchens, hallways, and study rooms.  Even with this strong team, Missouri Hall is a large building, and we need everyone's help to keep it clean and in good shape.  Residents are asked to clean up after themselves in public spaces and leave them ready for the next resident to use. 

Cafeteria

Missouri Hall houses one of the three cafeterias on campus.  The Missouri Hall cafeteria is open seven days a week and serves meals most of the day.  To learn more about the Missouri Hall cafeteria and its operations, visit the Sodexo Food Service page. 

Laundry

Laundry machines are available on all floors.  Easy to use washers and dryers are used every day by residents in the building.  The machines are all coin operated, though the units on third and fifth floor can also use a declining balance on the student ID card.  The washers and dryers are maintained by Jetz Service Company.  If you have service issues or lost money, please contact Jetz at 1-800-530-57826.

Vending
