Community

Students will tell you that there's something special about living in Missouri Hall.  In a matter of days it goes from being a place to live to a home filled with life-long friends.  The building's unique design, dedicated staff, and outstanding residents make this possible.

Community by Design

Missouri's architecture is unlike any other on campus.  It's innovative layout features six wings.  Three of these wings meet on each side of the building at a central house lounge.  These lounges become the living room for each house of about sixty students.  It's in these lounges were residents watch movies, stay up for late night conversations, and make long lasting memories.  The lounges are a welcome place for all and a great chance to make a diverse group of new friends.

Other features like community bathrooms and the cafeteria help to reinforce the community effort in Missouri Hall.  The building, through its layout, is designed to reinforce positive community building.

Community Driven Staff

Over 200 people are on staff in Missouri Hall.  Student Advisors, housekeepers, cafeteria crew, support staff, and professional staff all work to ensure a great MO Hall experience.  The Student Advisors are the principle agents.  Each house has one or two SAs who plan community and educational based programming for the residents.  They work to maintain a positive community that supports everyone.  Each floor has their own housekeeper that works to keep that common spaces in good order.  These hard-working staff members quickly become part of the house family and offer sage advice in addition to their services.  The cafeteria crew, from the serving line to the management, create a welcoming place to eat and socialize for every meal.  Finally, the building's professional staff works to coordinate all these efforts.

Outstanding Residents

Each year Missouri Hall is fortunate to have some of the greatest residents on campus.  They take a lot of pride in being part of the Missouri Hall legacy.  Many continue to live in Missouri for their sophomore, junior, and even senior year.  They know that their time in MO Hall is special and enjoy the opportunities afforded them.
